What is the NPC?

The National Panhellenic Council know as "The NPC" is a governing greek organization that represents the interests of 26 national and international sororities/women's fraternities. As one of the largest and oldest women's membership organization, the NPC represents 4 million collegiate and alumna women across Canada and the United States. This organization serves as a governing body to facilitate sorority relations across women's greek letter organizations, working to advance sorority life across College and University campuses. An NPC chapter is established whenever there are at least any 2 of the 26 NPC sororities chartered on a University Campus. The first NPC sorority to join the University of Toronto was Kappa Alpha Theta in 1887, initiating 7 members in their first international chapter. Today, 7 NPC sororities are represented on our campus, with members from each sorority represented on the Panhellenic Council.
